International Seminar in Indonesian

LETIGES – In the modern digital era, the country must maintain its language and culture to maintain its identity and identity. This was conveyed by Malaysian Socio-Cultural NGO figure Tan Sri Prof. Datuk Wira Dr. Abdul Latif Bin Abu Bakar in the Indonesian Language International Seminar (SIBI) with the theme New Directions for Social Sciences, Politics and Humanities in the Era of Digital Society for Sustainable Development.

This agenda was organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and attended by more than 120 participants on 23-24 November 2022. Uniquely, even though it was an international seminar, the language used was not English, but Malay. Indonesia as an effort to internationalize the Indonesian language in the eyes of the world.

UMM Deputy Chancellor I Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Sc., really appreciate the agenda of this Indonesian Language International Seminar (SIBI). First, namely, the use of Indonesian, which is rarely done in international seminars. This step is considered capable of making the Indonesian language used by the world community.

“The second is the topic raised regarding social and political matters in the context of digital society. “of course, we hope there will be good ideas and innovations that can be assimilated in the form of articles or other platforms”. ***
